Everybody loves an update!

Okay....almost FOUR months married!  WOOHOO!  I feel like there has been so much that has happened since we were married that I haven't blogged about....So, feeling like a Discover Card commercial...here goes:
Moving, Job, Married, Honeymoon...
Reception, Decorating, Thank you cards.
Furniture, Family dinners, Church callings.
Thanksgiving, Kittens, lose job, Christmas time...
Moving, Storage, Job search!

So, although there aren't many details, it pretty much sums up the last four months. :)  The Honeymoon was in San Diego...and it was SO nice.  The reception was a lot of work but beautiful!  I totally (WE) procrastinated at sending Thank You cards out...so people were literally getting some at CHRISTMAS time!  Oops.  =/  We sat on metal chairs for a while in our apartment because we had no money...and finally found some great couches on Craigslist for cheap!  YAY!  Oh, and a coffee table!  We had Beau's family over for dinner which was awesome.  I can't remember what we had for dinner...but we had cinn-a-melts for dessert...SO yummy!  Beau and I were called to be teachers of 16-18yr olds at our church for Sunday School.  We've enjoyed it and are learning more about how to work together on ONE project and stay happy. :)  We can work on separate projects and do great...but put us on the same one and our ideas clash on how to do it.  We've got the rest of our lives to figure that one out. :)  Thanksgiving was awesome!  There were a good 20+ people at Nana & Papa's house.  Lots of food and good people. Right after TG we picked up two kittens and named them Tex and Tux.  Love those little guys!  They're so adorable and playful!!  On December 9th, I was laid off.  That sucked.  How is it that I am single and financially stable...but married I am poor??? LOL!  So, Christmas rolled around...Beau showered me with gifts even though we are poor...and I got him a thing or two...mostly things he'd been bugging me about like a joint account and refinancing my car.  Beau and I decided that to make it in this cruel world, we'd have to move home to his parents house.  I am fine with that...but not with the moving part.  I have moved 5 times in the last 6 months.  :(  So, little by little we're getting things out of our apartment and into a storage facility.  His parents were happy to give us the cozy mother-in-law suite  downstairs with the attached bathroom.  THANK HEAVENS.  So we go from a 1000sqft apartment to a 200sqft bedroom.  Definitely a transition...but I like it here. :)  The job search has been frustrating, but I'm starting to see results even though they're negative, so that's a plus!  On the other hand, I've been thinking about doing a program like Dental Assisting or Ultrasound Technician.  I'd like to go back to school, but I'm an out of state student and tuition is ridiculous.  So, I wait. :)

  1. I despise job hunting. Blaine and I had a poor year our first year, (not that we're rich now!) and eventually, you get past it, and you look back and laugh about how you survived! You do what it takes. It's a new year and things are going to be spectacular for you two, I can feel it!
